Our Name
Port: Inspired by Port Sudan, a symbol of connection, trade, and opportunity, ports represent gateways to the world. At Port of Pearls, we serve as a gateway to education, empowerment, and a brighter future.
Pearls: In the UAE, pearl diving was once the foundation of the economy. Pearls symbolize resilience, beauty, and strength emerging from hardship — just as refugees transform adversity into potential.
Port of Pearls: Together, the imagery represents safe harbor and transformation. We exist to nurture talent, remove barriers, and help refugees shine despite challenges.

Port of Pearls is built on a joint leadership model led by both refugees and non-refugees. Refugee leaders bring lived experience, resilience, and cultural knowledge, while non-refugee allies contribute technical expertise, networks, and resources. Together, we ensure that our work is inclusive, collaborative, and rooted in the realities of refugee communities.
